DOH & BridgewayThe Doctors Orchestra of Houston is the recipient of two grants totaling $3,500 from Bridgeway Capital Management and Bridgeway Charitable Foundation . Every year Bridgeway Charitable Foundation awards grants that assist a broad array of organizations and causes in the United States and abroad.

Bridgeway Charitable Foundation was established to assist in fulfilling the philanthropic mission of Bridgeway Capital Management, Inc., investment adviser to the growing family of Bridgeway Funds.

Bridgeway Capital Management is committed to donating one-half of its annual “after-tax” profits to support charitable and non-profit organizations. The Foundation distributes the majority of these gifts.

The mission of the orchestra is to provide a fellowship in both music and medicine for its members, to contribute culturally to the community and to help raise funds for medical and other local charities through its concerts. After our February 2003 concert, DOH was able to make its first financial contributions, and has donated a portion of ticket sales from each concert since that date.

Established in November 2000, Doctors Orchestra of Houston (DOH) is one of very few community orchestras in the United States and the world with its origin in the health professions. A number of it members are physicians, dentists, nurses, medical students, biomedical scientists, social workers and other allied health professionals who have a dedication to music that goes beyond their daily occupations. This fall marks the Orchestra’s 7th Season with Libi Lebel, Musical Director and Conductor.
